Hey Valerie, wish granted. We just put up a new addition to the Android Design Guidelines today that incorporates Honeycomb. Let us know what you think: http://www.mutualmobile.com/2011/android-design-guidelines-version-1-1-honeycomb/

Fantastic - I have been working on something similar for our project (http://servalproject.org), and this is a huge time saver. It is great to see design being taken seriously as a development requirement. Thank you very much for your hard work.

Thanks for the suggestion, maybe we'll surprise you. We would love to hear more from people about what they find valuable. Right now it's largely dictated by what our own developers and designers need. Android HIG was truly born out of our own struggles, we just thought we should share the love.

Thanks Reda, I actually drew from the Developer's UI Guidelines many times in the process of designing Android apps, particularly the section on icon creation. Google has given us the basics, but not much more than that. I found that as a designer, it did not give enough direction as far as creating UI elements (Tabbars, for example), or practical draw9slicing. I found that while I wanted to create something beautiful, the results were too unpredictable from device to device and that the guidelines didn't give enough instruction to get around this.

This is an awesome effort and a welcome guide! Every so often I'll post on Android forums I frequent with requests to help developers with the design of their app. I'm a graphic/web/ui designer and I love making apps look good. Unfortunately either most posts go unanswered, or replies consist of people not willing/able to incorporate design into their app. I think maybe they don't think they can afford it? Even when most of the time I say that I'm willing to do it for free to expand my portfolio.
