Tarun Nimmagadda
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Mutual Mobile, Tarun Nimmagadda has helped clients such as Google, Cisco, and Xerox take full advantage of the evolving mobile platform. A natural entrepreneur, Tarun has worked tirelessly to elevate Mutual Mobile to where it stands today.
Before founding Mutual Mobile, Tarun founded and served as Chief Information Officer of AccessAble Systems, LLC, for which he won the Dell Social Innovation Competition. His work on robotics took him to the finals of the DARPA Grand Challenge and was published in the Journal of Physical Agents. Tarun has also worked with GM on V2I and V2V communication and is a founder of the SmartPhone Entrepreneurs Group.
Tarun now heads the fulfillment and operation side of Mutual Mobile. Under his supervision, the company has managed to combine award-winning designers and world-class engineers under one roof. Despite the ongoing talent war, Tarun’s vision has continued to attract the smartest, best minds in mobile. As a testament to this process, Mutual Mobile is now the single largest hirer of iOS developers in the country.
Tarun is a natural leader and motivator. New Mutual Mobile developers and designers quickly learn that there is no static, hidebound development process within the company. Rather, under Tarun’s collaborative supervision, teams are encouraged to create ways to heighten innovation and maximize efficiency.
Mickey Ristroph
Chief Technology Officer
Mickey Ristroph guides Mutual Mobile’s research and development efforts for next-generation tools and platforms. He consults on the strategic direction of the company and has been the driving force behind Mutual Mobile’s ability to extend both the technological and market impact of the mobile platform.
Before founding Mutual Mobile, Mickey wrote software for a global data mining initiative by the Department of Defense, designed the infrastructure and reporting tools for automated high frequency financial trading systems, and performed computational research in bioinformatics. Mickey co-founded AccessAble Systems, LLC, for which he won the Dell Social Innovation Challenge, and made it to the finals of the DARPA Grand Challenge for his work on autonomous vehicles. He has also designed multiple games and utilities for the iPhone, including the successful telephony app SparkPhone.
At Mutual Mobile, Mickey advises clients on enterprise mobility and leads the consulting team to devise both short- and long-term strategies for every customer’s mobile initiatives. His intimacy with financial services and Big Data has enabled him to deploy secure, highly scalable mobile solutions for such organizations as Cisco and BancVue.
Jason Story
Managing Partner
Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, Jason Story founded the IT services and security firm Gravity Technical, Inc., since acquired by White Glove Technologies. A seasoned entrepreneur, Jason brings to Mutual Mobile a history of forward-thinking business leadership.
Jason has overseen strategy development for many of Mutual Mobile’s projects, helping companies define their mobile ROI and establish long-term plans for the next 5 to 10 years. While he has participated in mobile launches for numerous industries, Jason possesses a particular interest in interfacing with health care and has worked alongside companies such as Philips and Touch Medix to devise their mobile solutions.
Jason’s integrity and commitment have earned him many trusted partnerships within the mobile development world. His openness and dedication to clients is the reason many of our one-off projects have evolved into long-term alliances.
Sam Gaddis
Chief Marketing Officer
Sam guides Mutual Mobile’s go-to-market strategy and is responsible for opening conversations in new accounts. As Chief Marketing Officer, he has developed a keen understanding of where in the enterprise mobile works, and more importantly where it often doesn’t. Recently, he helped launch Mutual Mobile’s consumer and enterprise strategy practice.
A technologist at heart, Sam’s approach to marketing stands out among peers in its thoughtful use of technology to identify and engage prospects. He is also a vocal advocate of agile marketing principles that value many small experiments over large and expensive campaigns.
Prior to Mutual Mobile, Sam founded a mobile marketing technology company and served as technology director for a non-profit land trust. As a student at UT Austin, he was one of the first researchers to publish a peer-reviewed study on Facebook which eventually appeared in Psychological Science. When he’s not tinkering with new marketing software, you can find Sam paragliding over the Hill Country.
Ken Bartley
Chief Financial Officer
Ken, our interim CFO, has a proven track record with companies in high-growth environments. Through his Bridgepoint Consulting, he provides financial advisory services to young technology companies. In this role, he uses his strong business acumen and keen analytical skills to maximize revenue growth — driving profitability from early stage to millions in revenue.
A former Air Force officier, Ken started his career with Texas Instruments and was most recently interim CFO at Illumitex, a venture-backed tech company who developed advanced LED lighting products. In addition to a bachelor’s in Accounting from Kansas State, Ken earned a master’s in Industrial Administration from Carnegie-Mellon and is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.
Kito Dietrich
Director, PMO
A classically trained musician who attended Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Kyoto City University of Arts, Kito Dietrich also possesses more than 25 years of career experience in software development, project management, and multimedia for web and mobile.
Kito has pursued his joint passion for software and multimedia since designing his first piece of music software on the Commodore 64 at age 7. Working for almost a decade as a freelancer, Kito specialized in sound design, video editing, and video compositing as well as transaction-based processes and scalable, back-end systems. His work on popular music software such as Ardour, jackd, and FXpansion’s BFD enabled him to draw on both his musical training and extensive technical experience. Kito’s career also includes stints with Sapient as a graphic designer and Hencie Consulting, an Oracle subsidiary, where he designed the database and performed front-end development for the PGA Golf website.
Kito has served Mutual Mobile as developer, project manager, Director of Development, and now Director of Project Management. He possesses extensive experience with e-commerce and video-on-demand services, and has contributed to all of Mutual Mobile’s highest profile projects.
Russ Buyse
VP of Engineering
Russ brings over 25 years of high-tech experience and leadership to his role of building and managing our engineering teams. He has the rare and valuable ability to combine a deep insight into emerging technology with an intuitive command of personnel management. All this while maintaining a tight focus on delivering outstanding results for the businesses we work with.
Russ’s career includes an extensive history of tech company leadership and entrepreneurship. Previously, he was co-founder and COO of National Transcript Center. He remained with that company for two years after it was acquired by Pearson to help further its product development. In addition to co-founding another tech startup, he also served as “entrepreneur in residence” for a venture capital fund.
With a deep background in software development, high-level tech personnel management skills, and an insight into business imperatives that can only come from up-close and personal experience, Russ enhances our capability to deliver solutions that offer the greatest possible value to our clients.
Amanda McGlothlin
Creative Director
Amanda McGlothlin guides the design aesthetic of Mutual Mobile. An evangelist for simplicity in visual design and user experience, Amanda’s fingerprints can be seen across mobile initiatives spanning from Cisco to Audi. Her enthusiasm and leadership are conducive to our team consistently delivering products that offer both high visual appeal and excellent end-user experiences.
Amanda guides clients through the initial planning stages to help devise their mobile strategy and to generate a roadmap for the remainder of the project. Her project visions – the result of iterations of workflows based upon user research – balance business objectives with the needs of real users. Always keeping end-user satisfaction at the front of every initiative, Amanda passes along her values to our international team of designers.
Before joining Mutual Mobile, Amanda polished her visual design and user interface knowledge working for a boutique agency, where she helped manage everything from branding to front-end development. Amanda also worked with the marketing and advertising firm T3 and operated her own photography studio. She has been recognized as a leader in mobile design, speaking at events such as SXSW in Austin.
Ron Lisle
Director of iOS Engineering
Ron Lisle has over 25 years of software design and development experience in areas ranging from audio device drivers to user interface architecture. He started developing iPhone applications professionally in 2010 while operating his own business and contracting for FanTrail, and joined Mutual Mobile as an iOS Developer in early 2011.
Ron is skilled in programming at all levels, from high level languages to low level DSP microcode, and he holds over a dozen patents. He began his technical career in the Navy, where he learned electronic and assembler computer programming, and has since served as Senior Software Engineer for IBM OS/2 Multimedia Development, IBM Javaos Performance, Dell Portables Development, and Integrated Device Technology. He has also worked as software manager for SigmaTel applications and started his own web and mobile application development company. Ron was a recognized multimedia expert for IBM and represented the company at the MIDI Manufacturers Association.
Ron is an expert in software testing, and is the author of the lynda.com video course Unit Testing iOS Applications with Xcode 4. His vision, experience, and intuitive understanding of mobile is invaluable to our iOS team.
Ajay Pall
Director of Android Engineering
We believe the Android OS has the potential to transform technologies beyond mobile, and we’re determined to be a driver of those transformations. To head our Android Engineering team, we needed an experienced technology leader with a proven ability to think outside the handset. Ajay Pall more than fits that billing.
Ajay brings over 20 years of software development and leadership experience to the role. He has led everything from large-scale mobile, web, and desktop application development projects to new user experiences for devices coming to market. His track record proves he can motivate and support team members from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to achieve groundbreaking results.
Ajay’s career has included all aspects of product development including strategy, project management, prototyping, design, implementation and testing. Prior to Mutual Mobile, Ajay was with frog design, a global innovation firm, as the Technology Director of their Austin studio where he led successful delivery of programs for clients including HP, AT&T, Sharp, Nokia and Imerj (Flextronics). He also worked at multiple startups as well as enterprise companies such as Vignette, Media Sourcery, Tandem Computers, and IBM.
Ajay holds a MS in Computer Science from FIT and a MS and a BSc in Physics from University of Delhi.
Ivan Cook
Creative Director
Ivan Cook has over 10 years of experience in the design industry and works with our creative team to help clients define and realize their vision — solving for user needs across all digital touch points and building emotional connections between customers and brands.
Guided by lessons learned in architecture school, Ivan believes that any design is only as good as one’s ability to correctly identify and solve for the problem at hand. At the end of the day, the most beautiful house is of little value if you can’t live in it. Ivan brings this philosophy into his design approach by working to ensure that our designs delight and engage the customer, but also have a strong underlying rationale to serve business and customer needs and act as a framework for future efforts.
Before joining Mutual Mobile, Ivan spent 5+ years at Razorfish creating multi-channel, cross-platform digital experiences for Fortune 500 clients. Prior to finding his calling in the digital space, he worked at Pentagram where he helped create branding and identity systems, environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding systems, and a variety of traditional designs.
Dennis Pierce
Experience Director
Visualizing how to bring a mobile solution to life for users is a discipline that requires a deep understanding and fluency in information architecture, visual design, content strategy, and software development. It takes a person who can see the forest and the trees simultaneously. Add in the responsibility for leading a growing team of interactive experience professionals, and you’re in pretty rarefied territory. As Mutual Mobile’s Experience Director, Dennis Pierce is more than up to the challenge.
Pierce’s professional experience with interactive technology dates back to the mid-90s, a time when many of us were only starting to understand what the web was. From his early experiences as a web designer, Pierce came to focus more and more on emerging disciplines such as information architecture and user experience design.
He understood early on that the way these disciplines are applied—or not—can make or break user acceptance and adoption, and thus the ultimate success of a project. Over time, he also developed skills as a leader and mentor, overseeing and guiding teams responsible for delivering innovative and relevant solutions. User experience is absolutely critical to every project we take on, so Dennis is a key contributor to the value we deliver to Enterprise clients.
As a seasoned professional, Pierce has led dozens of Web-based initiatives and emerging technologies projects with many top-brands and companies. Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, he was an Associate Experience Director for Razorfish, where he oversaw successful projects for Fortune 500 clients including GE, AT&T, Southwest Airlines, J.C. Penney, and Dell.
Dennis Parker
Director of Server Engineering
Dennis brings over 30 years of software development and team management talent, experience, and leadership to his role as our Director of Server Engineering.
For much of his career, Parker has specialized in managing the full development life cycle for Enterprise scale products and hosted solutions. That makes him the ideal person to oversee server implementations for mobile application development projects at Mutual Mobile, where as many as 50 projects may be in development at once.
With his decades of knowledge and experience, his demonstrated leadership and management abilities, and his innate sensitivity to stakeholder needs and priorities, Dennis is a major force in our drive to become the unquestioned industry leader in developing Enterprise-scale mobile solutions.
In his over 30 years of experience in the tech industry, Parker has held positions in both hardware and software development, and has been a co-founder and corporate officer of two start-ups. Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, he served as Director of Development for Performance Retail, Inc. He continued in that role under the title of Enterprise Applications Development Manager for Dresser Wayne after it acquired Performance Retail.
Quynh Pham
Director of QA
We stake our growing reputation on delivering flawless solutions on time and within budget. With close to 15 years of distinguished quality assurance and testing experience in a wide variety of environments, Quynh Pham was the obvious choice to build and manage our QA team.
Quynh’s extensive technical knowledge and capabilities are impressive in and of themselves. But she is the rare type who combines them with the people skills—team building, training, and professional leadership—needed to manage a growing team responsible for dozens of concurrent projects in various stages of development.
Pham isn’t content to settle for the status quo if she senses an opportunity to find a better way of doing things. Throughout her career she has developed new testing processes, strategies and methodologies to drive improvements in the software products she is responsible for. And she is a natural motivator. Her team members know that she is capable of tackling any task she assigns to them. But she inspires loyalty and respect by giving them the autonomy to determine the best way to get things done.
Immediately prior to accepting the challenge of building a first class QA team for Mutual Mobile, Quynh was QA Manager for Pearson Education, a leading provider of educational materials and technologies.
Jeff Genung
VP, Strategic Partnerships
As VP of Strategic Partnerships, Jeff is responsible for developing and managing a world-class partner ecosystem — one that’s focused on delivering value to the partners and clients we serve.
Throughout his 25-year career, Jeff has developed and managed relationships with some of the most respected tech companies in the world, including Apple, IBM, HP, SAP, Microsoft, Siemens and Dell.
Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, Jeff spent 8 years as a senior executive for TechTurn, an industry leader in IT asset recovery services. During this time, he served as VP of Sales, VP of Business Development and VP of Account Management, serving 300 companies in the Fortune 500.
Additionally, Jeff’s founded and led two start-ups companies himself. Having worked on both sides of the partner relationship, Jeff knows what it takes to build and sustain mutually beneficial partner programs.
Mike Snavely
VP, Strategic Accounts
Mike Snavely is responsible for growing our client relationships to drive value for the client and build the framework for long-term partnerships. He helped shape our distinction between new business acquisition and the management of existing accounts, and has played a large part in turning one-off projects with clients such as Google, Cisco, and Beatport into sustained relationships.
Before joining Mutual Mobile, Mike led the Retail Client Services team at Bazaarvoice and held account leadership roles at Acxiom and the Allant Group. Prior to his work with professional services and software suppliers, Mike led field marketing services for a $2 billion unit of Conseco. He is also a licensed attorney at law.
Stephen Brown
Mobile Strategy Director
As the leader of our Mobile Strategy practice, Stephen shapes and delivers our offerings to help clients understand the impact of mobility to their industry and business, identify opportunities and traps, and craft a plan of action.
Stephen is a pure-bred consultant with a breadth of strategy and product development experience across many industries. He is passionate about working side-by-side with client leaders to find ways that mobility can address real business problems and provide measurable results.
Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, Stephen served as a Senior Consultant for Slalom Consulting and a Manager in Innovation and Architecture for Accenture. He planned and executed complex, mission-critical programs for many Fortune 500 clients including Gap, AT&T, and PG&E.
Diane Harvey
Senior Engagement Manager
A veteran software developer and project manager, Diane Harvey brings to Mutual Mobile over two decades of leadership and innovation across the technology industry. Diane was a pioneer in rapid prototyping while working with Steve Jobs’ NeXT Computer, worked on the Mach operating system kernel with Carnegie Mellon University, and is the primary patent holder for a real-time data delivery technology that she designed for well site transmissions.
Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, Diane developed software at IBM, iChat, and Pencom Software, and served as both Software Development Manager and IT Manager at Schlumberger. She also helped devise software solutions for companies such as Fidelity Investments, AOL, eBay, and Barnes & Noble. Additionally, Diane invested four years in Silicon Valley where she worked with a number of start-ups including One Touch Systems and iChat, creating one of the first instant messaging services with over a million active users.
As Senior Engagement Manager at Mutual Mobile, Diane applies her extensive experience in the technology industry to deliver superior mobile solutions. A certified ScrumMaster, Diane has been formally practicing Agile project management and development for 3 years and possesses another 15 years of management experience in Extreme Programming and Scrum.
Ed Ireson
Director of People Operations
Ed Ireson takes care of Mutual Mobile’s most important asset: our people. He is responsible for identifying and hiring Nice Geniuses; ensuring their health and well-being; and even making sure they have fast and stable infrastructure to get their job done.
Ed is actively involved in our talent acquisition efforts, and, in our industry, the competition for knowledgeable and experienced people is fierce. Mutual Mobile prides itself in only hiring the best of the best, and that’s not just some cliché. So he is often on the move, traveling widely to find folks who have the skills and experience we demand.
It doesn’t stop there — Mutual Mobile strives to have one of the best work environments in the industry. This is evident in our numerous awards, including the 2011 Best Places to Work (AAS) and Forbes’ 2011 Most Promising Companies. The People Operations group ensures that employees not only have fresh bagels and Red Bull, but also have a healthy work environment with Town Hall meetings, company sports leagues, and plenty of social events.
Prior to Mutual Mobile, Ed was the co-founder of a media and communications firm in Los Angeles, and in 2007 was involved in a start-up bringing electronic medical records to mobile devices. He graduated from Louisiana State University with Distinguished Communicator honors and was a member of the Leadership LSU program.
Matt Lee
Director of Application Management
Enterprise mobile solutions must evolve to stay relevant, so we plan for complete lifecycle management from day one. In Matt Lee, Mutual Mobile has a lead engineer with almost a quarter century of experience developing and managing technology support services.
Does he have the technology down cold? Of course. Going back to the late ‘80s, Matt has time and again built and run support structures that have helped companies leverage their software products into profit and growth. But 1s and 0s are only a small part of why Matt has risen to the top of his field. Leadership, dedication, management skills, and an infectious positive attitude have all played leading roles, too.
Throughout his career, Matt has specialized in technology project management and support engineering. Prior to joining Mutual Mobile, he served as Project Management Director at Appiction, LLC.
Ravi Tirumalaraju
General Manager, India
To deliver enterprise-class solutions at the speed of mobile, we can’t afford to stop working. We’ve invested heavily in building parallel operations between US and India, with both offices held to the same standards. As General Manager of our India offices, Ravi Tirumalaraju is the person responsible for ensuring those standards are met.
Ravi is yet another member of our team with a multi-disciplinary background, holding a master’s in computer science as well as a degree in business administration. He embodies our philosophy of bringing more technology to business and more business to technology.
A relative rarity today, co-located, cross-cultural business operations will become more commonplace in the future. But Ravi has already been there and done that. He has proven success building and managing large collaborative engineering teams co-located across the U.S and India.
Ravi has over 16 years of experience in enterprise mobility, mobile VAS, and middleware technologies for companies such as Motorola, Good Technology, and JP Mobile. He served as the lead technologist in design and development for the first SMS-based VAS platform in India, and most recently managed the Mobile Solutions Group at Corpus Software Private Limited.
Jason Sanchez
Corporate Controller
Jason brought 15 years of leadership experience in Corporate Finance and private and public company financial positions. Having spent most of his career in technology, which spanned from start-ups through public Fortune 100 corporations, Jason was a perfect fit to head up the Mutual Mobile finance and accounting department.
