There was a time when “work” was a place you visited 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Today, the word “work” is more closely associated with the things people do rather than a place they go. You no longer need an office building or cubicle in order to be “working”, mobile technology allows us to work just about anywhere in the world – whether it be from the comfort of home or across the globe.

This infographic shows some of the amazing stats around exactly how much mobile enhances our productivity and in what areas. Three out of five workers no longer feel they need to be in the office in order to be productive, and can be working almost as effectively in a cafe, on a plane or hotel. Mobile email access is up 36% while desktop email access continues to drop, illustrating that, for better or worse, the work day no longer ends at 5 but rather after you’ve tapped out that last email on the crackberry before switching off the lights.
